I was sitting in a meeting this morning and I received an email from a good friend in Austin telling me that his wife passed away last night. She had been fighting cancer for about five years, and it had been very hard on her. The thing that made it sad for us is that they visited San Francisco a while back, met us for an amazing dinner there, and told us she had been declared cancer free. Literally days after that fun evening, they found out that it had returned, and was worse than ever. So after 25 surgeries, dozens of hospital stays, 30 radiation treatments, and several rounds of chemo, she finally passed late last night.
We are very grateful for the eternal Plan of Salvation, that helps us know we there is life after death, and that Caroline is in a much better place. But we also have very tender hearts for Fred and the kids as they've lost their wife and mother. We hope they will be ok. Caroline, we will miss you.
