Man is it frustrating! Chances are a couple of us will still get in through other means, but what a bummer to have to beg your way in later. The marathon's just getting too popular, and as much as I don't want to pay more and more, unless they raise the entry fee, it's always going to be this bad. Thank goodness after two more years I'll be in the 10-year club and get automatic entry.
Twins Update: the twins will be induced no later than Monday, May 14th. I think the real determining factor on if they come earlier or not is how excited Molly gets watching the Jazz against the Warriors. I don't know how she didn't go into labor on Monday night - actually, I don't know how Spencer didn't go into labor too... Maybe tonight, and then my prediction will be right on the money.
The kids are stoked that Mom and Dad are coming out to see their play next week. It'll be fun for us all to have them - WE LOVE VISITORS!!!

1 Day to Twins! Any update from the expectant family?
Summer is here - 90+ degrees and hot ... wait, 90 degrees and hot mean the same thing - I just wanted to make sure you understand that it's hot. The kids are lucky to have swim team after school, although it makes our evenings tough with homework, etc.
Thanks to those who called and sent stuff for Morgan's birthday. She heard all your messages and/or talked with everyone she could. She had an awesome day, and ended it by asking Angela, "Mom, how many days to my next birthday?"
We found a new favorite Vietnamese restaurant, and guess what, it's right by our house. We had been there before but didn't have the greatest experience. Well, we tried again and were very pleased with the quality of the food, the cleanliness, the service, and the price. We're so lucky to live where we do - we're within walking distance of excellent Texas BBQ, Chinese, Thai, Burritos, Vietnamese, Fresh Choice, and day laborers - man, does it get any better than that?!

GO JAZZ!!!
First of all, we're 2 Days to Twins! I'm sticking by my countdown, but acknowledge that it could happen a couple of days "late". Morgan was really hoping her two newest cousins would be born today, on her birthday.
We are so grateful for Morgan today! She's such a treasure for our family, and I think of all the girls, she has really morphed into Mommy's little buddy because she gets a lot of time at home as the big sister and big helper. Ang laughingly recounts Morgan's funny sayings, and her astute observations to me - what a sweet girl! We started off her birthday with our traditional donuts, and then I invited Morgan to join me on a special Daddy-daughter birthday lunch date at my work. She thought it was really great to come and eat with me, where we enjoyed our food and three or four desserts, and then we played tic-tac-toe in my office for a while. She beat me 5 out of 6 times. Tonight she will be overjoyed with her main present - she's been asking us for an American Girl doll for months. I convinced her at lunch that we actually got her an American Boy doll...I think she's a little worried.
I usually try to update the blog in the morning so as to capture most of the day's traffic. I've had a lot on my mind with my new calling, and as a result, I've sort of avoided posting. I think most of you should know by now that our church lives are going to change a little bit (I think everyone in my family knows, and since Angela's mom knows, I guess that means everyone in her family knows too, along with most of Provo/Orem...just kidding...;-) ). I don't really want to post it yet just in case, but if you haven't heard I'll email you.

4 Days to Twins! Contractions have been reported, although the word today is that it's not imminent. Probably just signs that things are getting close. Molly and Spencer - any insider info on the starting rotation for names?
Ang and I saw Spiderman 3 last night and enjoyed it. It's not a must-see by any means, but we were definitely entertained. Movies are always better too when you don't have to pay for them. Bottom line is you'll want to put this in your DVD queue if you don't see it in the theaters...aka if you don't get out to a lot of movies, don't waste a valuable date night on this one, but it's worth seeing sometime.
The mighty Cougs rolled over Penn State yesterday in the National Final Four tournament at Stanford. Unfortunately, the mightier Cal Bears also rolled over Navy, and BYU now gets to take on Cal this afternoon. I won't say it would be a complete shocker if the Cougs pulled off the upset, but they are definite 'dogs in this one. I love how this year's team plays though - great teamwork, good coaching, good fundamental rugby, no big-time stars.
Sunny, breezy, cool today - great for a bike ride this afternoon. Have an outstanding weekend!

NEW AND EXCITING FEATURE!
As promised a while ago, I'm instituting a new feature on the blog. I'm sure everyone's so sick of hearing about our family, and stuff that interests me as I'm writing! So here's the deal: now you guys get to tell us about yourselves, one by one, and believe me, this is going to be good. So without further ado, let me introduce you to our first STAR OF THE WEEK!

Hailey Leishman Richards (in her own words)John asked me to share a little bit about myself, so here it is!
Who: I’m John and Angela’s sister-in-law. I married John’s little brother Dan, almost 4 years ago.
What am I doing: Dan and I are expecting our first baby. We just found out it’s a little boy, and couldn’t be more excited. He’s due September 12th. Right now we’re living in Philadelphia, where I’m working as a nurse in the ICU and the Children’s Hospital. It’s fun and challenging and I’m learning a lot every day. I’m also serving as the Young Women’s secretary in our ward and love it. A past time enjoyment was running (I actually ran in the St. George Marathon with John…well, for about 1 second! I’m not the fastest runner!), but now that I’m pregnant, I mostly stick to walking and the elliptical to get my exercise! Other enjoyments include getting ready for the baby-which means trying to read up on all the latest baby products and ‘how to’ books on parenting! (Just ask Dan-our schedule is booked for the next few months with ‘birthing,’ infant CPR and child safety classes!)
Favorites: Well, now that I’m pregnant, old favorites, such as food, are no longer favorites! But I love reading, scrapbooking, traveling to visit family and watching my favorite TV shows (like, LOST, Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, The Office…basically I have too many favorites!). I also love the internet-living away from family and friends, I have found the internet to be my life line! My favorite restaurants include: Hires, Café Rio, and any good ice cream shoppe.
Goals: Right now, my main goal is to become a good mommy and of course be a good wife!
Update of my family: I come from a family of 4 children. My oldest brother Chad is getting married to Jessica Hadfield on August 17th and my little sister Lindsay is marrying Phil Parker August 23rd. (Yes, I will be about 37 weeks pregnant at the weddings!) My little brother Tanner, is serving a mission in Guadalajara, Mexico, and has been in the field for a little over a year. My parents are doing great and looking forward to the busy summer that lies ahead! And Dan, the love of my life, is getting ready to start MBA school in August.
So, that about sums it up!

Lot Going On
We've been very pleased with the girls' school. They pride themselves on providing a well-rounded, multi-faceted educational experience for the kids, and they do a great job. Micah and all the other 4th graders left this morning for a two-day field trip up to "Gold Country" near Sacramento. They will sleep in tents tonight and hopefully have a wonderful, safe experience. I don't remember having those opportunities in my elementary school...
Angela and I are having a date night tomorrow night and we'll be seeing the movie Spiderman 3. My company has purchased something like 30 theaters worth of tickets throughout the day tomorrow, so we're going to enjoy a date night with our late-evening tickets. I was also pleased yesterday to receive a complementary earthquake/emergency kit from the company (for all employees) that is very well stocked and nicely supplements our own 72-hour kits. Oh yeah, and besides all the perks, I really enjoy my work. I'm really starting to "get it" now with some of my big projects, and I feel like I'm adding value ahead of schedule.
Big playoff games tonight - Jazz trying to stay alive and Warriors trying to knock off the giants. Thank goodness for DVR as I'm doing EQ visits tonight and wouldn't want to miss the games. It's also fun to have a bunch of buddies trickling into town for this weekend's collegiate rugby Final Four and National Championships where BYU starts out by playing Penn State tomorrow and then hopefully Cal on Saturday.
Ang went to her Boot Camp workout twice this week, and I have to admit is complaining a little bit about being sore. For Christmas I gave her a workout with a trainer as part of a group that meets early in the morning at a local high school. She really enjoys it and looks great.
That's about it.

I got to have another visit to the temple yesterday with a friend who needed a companion in a time of need. The session, all 6 of us, was much different than Saturdays, which was nearly full and much longer. It was really nice to be there and feel the peace. The thought crossed my mind how glad I was to be at the temple participating in the spiritual aspects of our church, rather than sitting at home watching the PBS special on the Mormons - such a contrast!
Speaking of which, I watched a grand total of about 10 minutes of that "documentary" on Monday before turning it off for good. The thing that frustrates me about those productions is that they completely miss the whole point of the religion - that it's centered on Jesus Christ, and that there is a spiritual foundation behind all the physical, historical acts, that can't be proven or illustrated in the context of a historical piece. It also bothers me that they give air time to numerous "historians" or descendants of certain church members, but the world never knows what their qualifications are (or aren't), what their motivations are, what their stance on the gospel is, etc. - it's just taken as the truth because it's from a so-called expert of something.
Nonetheless, I'm more than happy to not have watched it. I had lunch with a non-member friend yesterday who asked my thoughts on it, and I just said that I am usually bothered by those things because they miss the spiritual and revelatory aspects in trying so hard to just show what people did, or what they said.
Angela is enjoying her YW calling. She is the Mia Maid advisor (I'm pretty sure), and the girls at all levels of the YW really love her. It gets a bit busy around our house when Angela has 2-3 nights a week of firesides, activities, and meetings; while I have at least one night usually of meetings or visits. But we're grateful for our blessings and this is a way for us to give back.
